A: If you follow the incubation instructions, the hatching percentage of decapsulated Artemia cysts "Embryo" should reach 80-90%. However, you can safely feed the remaining unhatched eggs to your fish or shrimp

A: There are several ways how you can improve your hatching results of both Embryo Artemia and dry Artemia cysts:

1. Make sure you use 25 - 30 g of non-iodized salt per liter water.
2. It is important to keep the water temperature at 28 - 30 C, so you might need a special aquarium heater.
3. If you incubate Embryo Artemia, you have to stir the product thoroughly from the bottom to the top, so that you incubate an evenly distributed liquid mass.

A: It depends on what kind of Artemia you incubate.

1. When incubating dry Artemia cysts after switching the aeration off, most of the unhatched eggs fall to the bottom of the tank, as they are heavier than the empty shells at the surface.

2. With Embryo Artemia, we mostly do not divide the outcome into nauplii and unhatched eggs, since all of the product presents an edible biomass. Keep in mind that hatching of the Embryo starts already after 14

hours of incubation, therefore the extended periods of incubation (over 36 hours) may result in nauplii losing energy and sinking to the bottom together with the non-hatched embryos (and some just land there regardless of time spent in the hatching tank)

A: Freezing of the product does not negatively affect the eggs but preserves its nutritious qualities. Since you need to stir the product thoroughly before incubating, you have to defreeze it first. Those are living organisms we are working with and they require specific handling

TIP! Some of our customers found their way in distributing the Embryo product over the ice forms, so that before incubation you can just pop up the cube and throw into the incubation vessel. It is very important though to make sure that each portion weights 10 - 15 g!

A: No, dried decapsulated brine shrimp eggs cannot be incubated. But they are perfect for direct feeding. To obtain fresh brine shrimp nauplii from decapsulated cysts, use our product Embryo Artemia.
